Healing others heals myself.
I started my career very young, without even realizing it! My mother used to massage my father's feet after work every day. Before I even started elementary school, one day, I scolded my mother for "doing it wrong". From there on out it was my responsibility. Since - I have always had great hand dexterity and strength. I started my career very young, without even realizing it! My mother used to massage my father's feet after work every day. Before I even started elementary school, one day, I scolded my mother for "doing it wrong". From there on out it was my responsibility. Since - I have always had great hand dexterity and strength. First, I learned the feet, then head, then neck and shoulders....you get the idea. Through middle and high school, I was involved in sports and also practiced massage on team members and coaches. Even in college - I just became more fascinated with the human body and how it works. Kinesiology wasn't enough for me, then came personal training and then massage...and now, will complete a Physical Therapy program.
It may be needless to say but I will anyway. I have a very wide "specialty" range. My training has allowed me to be more intuitive than most therapists who have only practiced massage... at least in my experience. Other therapists - I apologize if that fact offends, but it's just the experience I have had in my 11 years of practice and through the MANY massages I've had in the last 16 years. I think most of you could agree that a large amount of therapists enter this field for the money. People have the idea that massage is a luxury. For some, that's true. But I have always believed that massage is far more than a luxury - it's a medical necessity. Not everyone needs a series of 8 sessions to balance out, some can get away with one massage every four to six weeks. We all have different needs, but in my experience, massage can change lives by improving quality of life. That's what I'm in it for.
More specific "About Me" - I practice in NWKS. Oakley and Colby, KS. I offer to travel within a 90 minute radius of both as needed. I operate a Massage, Skin Care and Lifestyle Coaching business from home as well as practice in a physical therapy clinic Monday through Friday at Tina Harris Physical Therapy in Colby, KS.
