First, I do have some hearing loss. Nothing that is a problem during face to face interactions. You probably won't even notice when you come into my office. Unfortunately, electronic devices are another matter. I cannot distinguish numbers and other important information- like names while on the phone. This makes scheduling sessions via cell/phone very difficult. It takes much longer and can be frustrating for both parties. I now prefer to make appointments via text or emails to ensure correct information is exchanged. Please use text and/or email when scheduling or even better use this site to book your next massage. Thank you for your understanding! Now for the good stuff.
I do things a little different. I like to relax and take my time. My massage schedule usually consists of two or maybe three people a day. I prefer an hour and a half... or better yet a 2 hour session so no one is in a hurry. I love slowly working my way through your stressed and tired body. Finding all the knots, tension and pain so they can be replaced with smiles, sigh and snores.
I believe that relaxation and pain management are both multi-faceted challenges that needs to be addressed on many levels. I am not afraid to try new things. Environment, effective technology, advanced techniques, people skills, smart business sense and the ability to touch are all essential to having a truly successful massage practice. It honestly comes down to people. I want to spoil you. I want to help manage your stress and pain. I want you to feel special... even for just a couple of hours.
I strive to provide the very best service on all these levels. For example, my wide massage table has 4 inches of memory foam and heat so you feel like you are floating on a warm cloud. I have several different pillows and bolsters to ensure you are comfortable. My office and equipment are clean and safe. Linen is always fresh. I also provide healthy snacks, chocolates and a refreshing bottled water, for free, with every massage. To truly spoil you, I have a surround sound system and brain entrainment music. Brain relaxation entrainment music have been proven effective in reducing mental, emotional and physicalI stress. In under 5 minutes your mind is already relaxing your body. Amazing! I also have a large assortment of aromatherapy to help ease the transition into one of more ease.
Location is key. Where you get your massage can make or break your massage experience. Because of this major factor I've moved my studio to one of the most well-known, beautiful, relaxing and centrally located areas in the valley. My office is now located on Main Street in the same block as the Avalon Theater. My entrance is found nestled in the breath-taking breezeway that I share with The Winery. My view is the serene sunken garden of The Sentinel Building, which my office resides. Inside is my Moroccan-styled massage pavilion as well as my therapeutic area and training center. Inside and out its pleasing to the senses.
Lastly, I think that I should really know what I am doing. That I am safe. That I am effective. That is why I have taken over 100 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) in the 4.5 years I have been in practice. I have also participated in just as many hours in non-CEU courses striving to be the very best therapist I can be. I have found a balance between science and my innate intuition and am now able to provide the best proven massage methods while still meeting your individual needs. Education, research and continuing education are essential. I have taught massage and anatomy while at the Director of Education at the ITMWC and hope to soon have my very own CEU provider license so I can continue teaching my advanced techniques to my peers.
In a nutshell, I really love what I do. I hope you will give massage a try, even if it is with another therapist. Massage can and will change your life. It did mine.
