Drawing on over 1000 hours of training in Massage modalities, as well as holding advanced certification in RoelsMethod Structural Bodywork, she is uniquely qualified to meet a variety of needs. Additionally, she offers Acutonics Sound Healing.Growing up as an athlete, Emily came to the study of massage with an interest and first-hand understanding of what stress the body goes through while competing. This piqued her interest in anatomy and physiology as well as nutrition, leading to a more holistic approach to massage and to life. She began her study of massage shortly after the birth of her daughter. She recognized the need that massage could fulfill in bringing focus to busy lives and help clients with associated pain and discomfort caused by injury and surgery that present chronic pain. She brings to her work a calming element that allows her clients to focus on their therapy and move toward wholeness.Emily has a background in teaching as well as in practicing massage. She has trained over 100 licensed massage therapists in the fine art of Swedish massage and the power of intention, in Pathology, and in Asian Theory. As a partner in Essential Balanced Bodywork, Emily is a Nationally Certified Category A Continuing Education Provider, and she teaches Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage to Licensed Massage Therapists. It is her awareness of the complexity of the human condition as well as her empathetic approach to her clients’ needs that sets Emily apart from many other therapists. Her ability to initiate balance and calm through regular bodywork leads her clients to more conscious and stress-free ways, which in turn helps them become more efficient at work and in day-to-day situations. Her therapy has helped many people relieve the pain from injuries, overuse, stress, and general discomfort, as well as to maintain good physical and mental health.
