I am an anatomy nerd and recovering perfectionist just trying to keep things moving.

My life in body work began in Pilates, a practice I discovered when a 9-5 desk job and semi-professional dance career after work created a perfect storm of joint and low back pain in my 20s. Turns out my sedentary day job and the repetitive motions of choreography were creating uneven wear and tear that was catching up with me, and between massage therapy and mat class I was able to not only find relief, but change how I worked with my body so those aches and pains faded into the past. Once I got past pain, the same techniques helped me to become stronger in ways I never imagined were open to me before. I was hooked and felt compelled to share this knowledge with others, first as a Pilates instructor and later as a massage therapist. The combination of release work and re-training sleepy muscles to activate has become the heart of how I work with my own body and how I coach my clients.

I graduated from Louisville School of Massage in 2018 and am comprehensively certified in Contemporary Pilates through Balanced Body University (2015) and Classical Pilates through The Vertical Workshop (2020). My fitness background includes working with clients with back pain from spinal conditions like scoliosis and osteoporosis, as well as those who have just graduated PT, to help them get back to the active lifestyles they enjoy. The focus of my work on the table and in the Pilates studio is education: each session is a hands-on lesson in how to shift movement and posture patterns that contribute to trigger points and other chronic muscular pain so my clients can learn how to head off sore, achy days before they begin. And I'm there to lend a hand when they need a little extra.

When I am not working, I enjoy figuring out vegan baking, getting out into the woods to hike, and recently took up running (jury is still out on whether that sticks). My undergraduate and graduate degrees were in art, and I still spend a lot of time sewing, creating, and writing. I am an avid reader and my favorite Sunday morning is one spent on the couch with a book, a mug of coffee, and at least one cat on my lap.
