I have been giving massages to my parents since I was 10 years old; but I was in graduate school before I received my first massage.  I was working in Santa Fe New Mexico and friends suggested we all get massages.  As soon as the massage started I felt like I was on the wrong career path and decided I wanted to be a massage therapist instead.  I researched all of the massage schools in Massachusetts and decided that the two best were The Muscular Therapy Institute and Bancroft.  At the time I was living in Somerville so I attended The Muscular Therapy Institute.  After being a student for about a year I realized that massage school was just the jumping off point.  I wanted to focus on prenatal massage and equine massage.  


After graduation I became certified in pre and perinatal massage from both Carol Osborne and Tracy Walton.  I also have taken most of the Ben Benjamin Orthopedic massage series.  I love working with people with chronic pain, overuse injuries,, women with endometriosis and pregnant women.

I always feel much better after my massage with Janie. She is great at deep tissue massage. She is quiet if you want quiet, talks if you want conversation. She takes measures to prevent the spread of germs. I highly recommend her.
