Massage and Spa Therapy Program
Polarity Therapy Career Program (BCPP)
I completed Rosemary Gladstar's Herbal Apprenticeship Program, a 10 month journey into the world of herbs, herbal therapies and natural living, in 2013. As adults, we can become so disconnected from what is truly important sometimes. When we reconnect with the plant world, we reconnect to ourselves, our bodies, and we truly appreciate all the beautiful gifts nature has to offer. It was very healing to me personally, and in turn I share this information with my clients the level of Herbalist. I recently completed an Advanced Herbal Apprenticeship at Thyme Herbal in Conway, MA.
As a Massage Therapist, and Herbalist, we briefly touched on Aromatherapy, and my interest was reignited when a course was offered at Alternatives for Health Herbal Apothecary in Sturbridge MA. Linda Patterson taught the class and it was so amazing, I took the Level 2 course right away! Learning how essential oils are made, how to differentiate good oils from not so good ones and how to blend, scientifically and intuitively. I now offer customized blends to my clients for whatever issues they may be working on, physically emotionally, mentally and/or spiritually.
I received my Master/Teacher Attunements in May 2014 with Donna Jacobsen, RMT, and it changed my life. Reiki has led me down so many wonderful paths, and I continue to use it nearly everyday for self-healing and meditation. My clients enjoy Reiki as a stand alone treatment, or integrated into their massage sessions. It is beautiful and powerful modality.
I became interested in the Polarity Therapy Program offered at STI in 2014. I took the first level and immediately signed up for the BCPP program, and completed it in 2015 with 775 hours. I became board certified in 2016 when I sat for my BCPP exam, offered by APTA. Polarity is a form of Ayurvedic Bodywork developed here in the West by Dr. Randolph Stone, after he was exposed to Ayurveda while in India. Ayurveda means "the science of life", or "longevity", and is a sister science to Yoga, which means "to yoke" or "unite". While Yoga teaches us to become self-realized through a series of postures, meditation, and non-violence toward the self and others, Ayurveda teaches us how to care for the body with proper diet, exercise, self-care and bodywork for our unique constitution, or body type. Polarity therapy takes us deep into healing, energetically and physically, and can remove nearly any kind of block or pain, emotionally, physically, mentally or spiritually. It is truly a beautiful healing modality and has helped me to become more self aware and fully experience joy in my life.
