I’m Akenaton Flores, the chief therapist here at Pharaoh Bodyworks. I’m a certified massage therapist and neuromuscular therapy practitioner. Here at Pharaoh Bodyworks, I work with clients to reduce chronic pain, improve athletic performance, and relieve tension and stress. I’m about getting you back the natural, healthy, pain-free movement that’s yours by right!

My Story

I began my massage career in 2010. I guess I was primed for massage already: I practice yoga and meditation, and I was already looking for a hands-on, holistic approach to healthcare that yielded serious therapeutic effects. When I discovered what Russian medical massage could do for people with pain, sports injuries and imbalances, I was blown away. I knew this was for me. After graduating from the Southern California Health Institute, I became interested in neuromuscular therapy, and I was fantastically lucky, because I had the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship in that system. With its emphasis on trigger point release and working on the nervous system through the muscles, neuromuscular therapy filled in the blanks and gave me a whole new way to approach my clients’ problems.

Now I’m based in Santa Clarita, CA, and I spend my days working with clients to get the best out of their bodies. That’s massage, sure, but it’s also education and discussion, approaching the whys as well as the hows so clients improve consistently, with exercises or tips for when they’re at home or on the trail (or at the office) as well as on the massage table.
