I am a middle aged mother of 2 with an art degree and an avid interest in health. After several careers that I felt were not really me, I pursued massage therapy. I can say that I feel that I have switched modalities but I feel that some of the work in my other careers is used in massage. Whether the person is getting a Swedish Massage, which is a more relaxing all over massage, or a Deep Tissue Massage, which is more targeted on a particular area of concern, I feel that massage is so beneficial to both the body and mind. I believe that stress is the cause of many ills. Massage is a wonderful way to alleviate stress. What could be better than lying down in a comfortable (and beautiful) setting and letting someone soothe your whole body in a comforting way, smoothing and warming and kneading the muscles to get out the knots and kinks?
