Lauren grew up in California's South Bay beach cities of Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and Torrance. Lauren's first experience with bodywork came at the age of 12 when she received a massage at an in-home practice on the beach in Southern California. It was during this experience that Lauren discovered her love of bodywork, as she listened to the crashing blue waves and experienced the amazing art of massage coupled with the healing energy of the ocean.
Lauren was always very active growing up and with that activity came many injuries including broken ankles, her clavicle, femur, and many other sprains and strains. Massage has always been an integral part of her recovery and healing process.
When Lauren was 18, she moved to Maine and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Communication. After college, Lauren spent 6 years of intensive study in martial arts, as she connected with the physical, spiritual, and healing elements of Martial Arts at Riverview Martial Arts, where she earned her black belt.
Lauren worked for a prominent health care organization for 12 years where she worked along side doctors, providers, executives, and patients. She enjoyed her profession but after 12 years realized that her energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge were meant to be harnessed for a more restorative calling. The journey to help others, through bodywork was the natural choice for Lauren.
Lauren traveled to Stockbridge, MA to study at the Kripalu School of Yoga and after 4 weeks on campus she earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. In the Spring of 2016, Lauren graduated from the esteemed Downeast School of Massage located in Waldoboro, Maine where she spent 10 months specializing in: Sports Massage, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Deep Massage with Energy, and Kinesiotaping. In addition to her studies at Kripalu, Riverview, and Downeast School of Massage, Lauren also trained with Canada's Lotus Palm School of Thai Massage and is now certified in level one and two of Thai Massage. In addition, Lauren has studied with Naga Center Teacher, Jessica Dafni in Traditional Thai Medicine and Massage, Reusi Dat Ton and has completed Thai Scraping, Fire Cupping, and Herbal Compress trainings.
Lauren appreciates the benefits of living a life of diverse physical endeavors and values balancing the hard with the soft. Lauren has many hobbies including CrossFit, yoga, snowboarding, paddle boarding, hiking, surfing, running, and going to the beach.
Lauren looks forward to working with new and existing clients to help them restore, recover, and revitalize. She believes that the human body has the ability to heal itself and that massage can help to facilitate that process.
