Meditation Teacher, Yoga Instructor, Lifelong Learner

I am a lifelong learner, always reading, always writing, and always wondering.  I am a calm person, and I would rather be steadily efficient than in a rush.  Thinking through things before I act is a trait I hold dear, but I also move fast once my decision is made.  I am not one to shy away from a challenge, and much of my life has happened as a result of thinking I don’t want to regret missing out on something because I didn’t have the courage to try.  Attending 11 colleges in total, ...

Attending 11 colleges in total, and living in no place longer than a year for much of my young adult life was a direct response to wanting to live without regret, and I am so happy that I did, even though it also hurt sometimes!

Now that I’m happily settled in, finally, I spend most of my time at home with my family.  I love being with them, hanging out in our library, cooking dinner together, building models for miniature war-gaming and board gaming, and walking with my amazing dog, Mishka.  I enjoy creative hobbies.  I love to watch corny B-rate horror movies, Sci-Fi, football, and Monty Python and Mel Brooks movies.  I’ve recently taken on watching all of Star Trek, every single episode and movie, in chronological order...ask me how that went in a couple of years when I’m done!

I started my health and wellness journey when I went to nursing school in 2003, and then l continued on through 14 years of college education, training in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, English Literature, Meditation, and Yoga.  Meditation and Yoga have a special place in my heart.  I have learned, through personal experience and practice, about the healing properties of these practices.  Although I came to them accidentally, it was quite a happy accident.

I started learning Meditation and Yoga both while I was working through regulating my own harmful emotions and personal baggage.  The combination of the two helped me control my anger, anxiety and stress.  Meditation helped me repair broken relationships and understand how to forgive.  Learning to let go, and learning to be happy and confident in the present moment are some of the most important lessons I graduated with.  After college, I pursued further certifications in both Meditation and Yoga so that I could help others, something I have always wanted to do.
