Self-care isn't a luxury. If you want to reduce stress, get out of pain or improve your health... it's a necessity.

Jason has been in private practice as a massage therapist for over 15 years. His initial interest in massage sprung from a desire to better serve his yoga students by learning more about the human body and the mechanisms of sports-related injuries. One look at the amazing, 1,200+ hour curriculum at the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy and it was off to the races! After three years of part-time study, he became a licensed massage therapist in March of 2006, and subsequently continued his education by studying neuromuscular therapy, orthopedic manual therapy, decompression therapy (aka cupping), and prenatal massage.

When working with clients, Jason likes to first discern the primary reason the client is seeking massage. If the motivation is pain relief from a specific musculoskeletal imbalance or injury, he might want to do an initial assessment that includes a posture analysis, range of motion check and detailed interview, followed by a treatment focused primarily on the areas of the body that are directly or indirectly contributing to the pain. During this type of session, there might be more discussion, and Jason will likely incorporate myofascial, deep tissue and trigger point work. However, sometimes clients just want a full-body massage that feels holistic, nurturing and restorative… in which case Jason likes to set the tone with relaxing music and perform the session with as little discussion as possible, incorporating flowing Swedish strokes and interspersing deep tissue work as needed to help bring balance to the body.

Either way, he feels super grateful to have been given the opportunity to do this important work helping people on their wellness journey.
