Coming from a physical therapy background, I have had the opportunity to work around a variety of physical and neurological conditions such as stroke, cancer, spinal cord injuries. Neuromuscular Massage Therapy was the most natural transition for me to follow. I love being able to help people get out of pain, to live comfortably in their body, and to feel at ease and peaceful in their daily lives.

In 2022, I attended the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy for one week to learn about the emotional and psychological effects of experiencing Cancer, for the patient and the caregiver. The class was facilitated by Vickie Torrey, a licensed practitioner of counseling and massage therapy. We discussed grief, anger, and the ethics of working with this vulnerable population. In 2019 I attended an intensive Oncology Massage 35 hour course in Boston, MA led by Tracy Walton. We learned the 5 different pressures of touch, how to prevent lymphedema for persons who have experienced lymph node removal, radiation, chemotherapy, and surgeries to remove cancer from the body. We did case studies, and formulated treatment plans for various patients and situations in a clinical setting.
