Hello, my name is Joel, I grew up in a large and loving family in the woods and meadows of east Texas. While surrounded by the outdoors and care of gifted teachers, caretakers, counselors and massage therapists, I developed a desire to share the gifts I was receiving with others. I began traveling 10 years ago and found myself exploring my passions and deepening my skill set. Commercial fisherman, draft-horse farmer, hide tanner, mechanical boat engineer, and arborist are all fields I have worked in, where craftsmanship and attention to detail were at the center of my efforts. When I suffered from a bacterial infection which became chronic in 2018, I knew it was time to focus on my own health and balance on a deep level. I let my work fall to the wayside in order to recover fully, which was incredibly difficult for me as I love working my body and am no stranger to strenuous labor. Through the help of natural remedies, eastern medicine, oil massage, and rest, a profound transformation began to take place. When I became well enough to focus on career again, I knew I wanted to put my time and hands towards supporting the health and well-being of others who may be suffering. I believe human touch is an integral part of health and happiness and want to share what I have gained from receiving and giving bodywork. I enjoy working with people of all ages and walks of life. I have experience working with elders, athletes, specific injuries, general soreness, and overuse. I graduated from the prestigious Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in Longmont, CO in June 2020, which has prepared me to meet the needs of those who are seeking bodywork in support of overall health and well-being.
