Hello. My Name is Cheryl Cousins. I am a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Massage Therapist. I received my Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing in 1997 from Husson College.  I became a Registered Nurse in the state of Maine in June 1997, after completing and passing the NCLEX exam through the Maine State Board of Nursing.  I have worked in many areas of nursing, most of which is in Acute Care nursing, in a hospital setting.  In 2013, I decided to return back to school for massage therapy. I felt this was an area which would expand on the quality of care that I could offer as a nurse.  I attended and graduated from U.S. Career Institute with Certification in Massage Therapy, in November 2013.  In January 2014, I completed and passed the MBLEX exam through the Maine State Board of Massage Therapist, and became a Licensed Massage Therapist.  I am currently licensed in the State of Maine and my practice is located on South Street in Blue Hill, Maine. I am a member of Associated Bodyworks and Massage Professionals and the American Massage Therapy Association.

My practice philosophy involves assisting clients toward health through bio-psychosocial aspects, and understanding how everything interconnected.  I work toward assisting my clients with decreasing pain, discomfort, physical and emotional stress which presents itself in the muscles of their body, and utilize massage and bodywork, to improve my clients quality of life. I am continually increasing my knowledge base, to maintain up-to-date with education, techniques, and research in my field to better serve my clients. I seek out education on client specific needs when required, in order to provide the most up-to-date service to my clients.

As a person who has  experienced both acute and chronic pain, I understand how this pain can effect the body structures. I am a very empathetic, conscientious, caring and compassionate person, who would like to help clients who are having these issues, by assisting them in obtaining the best quality of life.  They can decrease the stress on the body and mind through the utilization of massage and bodywork.

I am a married, and have two adult daughters, who have given me a total of four grandchildren. I am a family oriented person, who feels family comes first. I enjoy time with my family, camping, traveling, hiking, swimming. I also enjoy running, scrapbooking, quilting and reading in my free time.

I had never had a massage until the other day. I was approached with such kindness and made comfortable in every way possible. My body was able to release so much tension thanks to Cheryl's technique, and I am so happy that I was able to get in. I definitely recommend Natural Touch Massage to everyone I know.

When I moved to the area, I was worried about finding a good massage therapist since I had excellent ones where I had lived. I am so glad Cheryl was recommended to me. She is kind and caring and very good at what she does.
