I've wanted to work in the massage field since I was young. I was very happy to have discovered Lincoln College - Normal, in 2010, to register for their 2011 classes; I graduated from that massage program in November of 2011.

I went to my first American Massage Therapy Association's National Convention in 2014, my first time to Colorado. The president called me while lunching with my mother, and invited me to a chapter breakfast, to meet and greet the Board of Directors, and network a little bit, as it was my first time attending. They showed me a great time, and asked if I would like to volunteer for a chapter position. That December I went to Evanston, IL to the National AMTA Headquarters to receive some introductory training to the software, and so began my advendture with a whole new set of like-minded professionals!
I filled the position of a Delegate for the AMTA - IL Chapter the first time, in 2015. We were hosted by the Pittsburgh Chapter. This position consists of working very closely with the members of your own chapter, but with every chapter in each state. We are the voice of our chapter members, and we took Recommendations, and Position Statements and debate, compare, and contrast the proposed Recommendations and Position Statements that the entirety of the AMTA would adopt and advocate. All the while, following Robert's Rules of Order. I took the positing a second time in 2016, when we were hosted by the WI, Milwaukee Chapter. It was the last Delegate's meeting that would occur before many changes would officially be implemented. It was phenomenal, and a great end to a wonderful saga of Delegate proceedings.
I was voted into the position of Member at Large in the 2015 AMTA-IL Spring Conference election. I was very involved in advocating proper licensure practices, fair and respectable rights for legitimate, professional massage therapists in all of IL. We have a strong network of keeping members aware of what is happening within proposed Illinois' state government ordinances or senate bills. I helped organize All Member Meetings, Spring Conferences, Continuing Education opportunities, as well as attending BOD meetings every month, and with big events, even more frequently as called for. I learned so much valuable information working with an amazing group of people, and hope to join them again in the not-so-distant future in another capacity. So many amazing memories and experiences were had with them all.
