  • What attracted you to a career in massage?  I have always had a strong curiosity for the human body and how it works and natural and holistic healing,  when you mix that with my inner pull to help others in pain, massage therapy and acupuncture were the perfect career path for me. It is more than a career for me, it is my passion and way of life.  In 2012 I was suffering from pain and discomfort in my right shoulder, after about a year of dealing with pain every time I reached out to pick something up, I looked up some videos on YouTube about self shoulder massage. I followed the videos instructions and massages every nook and cranny that I could reach in shoulder for about 20 minutes. I was amazed to find that the pain that had become a part of my daily life was almost completely gone. I said to myself, "Dang this massage stuff really works!!". After I helped myself with massage I was inspired to help other people! Finding a Massage Program and becoming a massage therapist became my new goal in life.

  • Which school did you attend and which certifications do you hold? After checking out a few schools that offering Massage Therapy programs I enrolled at Blue Heron Academy in 2013. I was 33 years old and I was excited to be learning about everything I was so passionate about. I completed three programs by February 2015, Medical Massage Therapy, Manual Therapy, and Medical Acupuncture.

  • What techniques do you specialize in? What issues or conditions does your work help improve? Medical Massage therapy uses many techniques with the main goals being to decrease pain and inflammation while increasing range of motion and normalizing soft tissue texture. Manual therapy is a dynamic form of massage and bodywork utilizing joint physics, muscle energy techniques, passive range of motion, stretching and joint mobilization to increase the synovial fluid that lubricates the joints of the body to decrease pain and inflammation and increase a person's passive range of motion and quality of life. Medical Acupuncture is a practice that has been used for thousands of years to assist the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The tiny acupuncture needles stimulate the body to release natural pain killing endorphins putting a stop to the pain and injury cycle. When physical stress and tension is removed, the body is able to experience relaxation, which is key to mental and emotional healing. Depression, anxiety, headaches, and other mood disorders decrease,  while Peace, Balance, and Clarity are increased!!  I continue to learn and use many other forms of massage and holistic healing techniques.

  • Where are you available to provide massage? All Services are provided in the office of Zeilinger Chiropractic 123 S Warren Ave BIg Rapids, MI 49307.    Group and Event massage and acupuncture can be provided at your home, office, or choice location.

  • What hobbies and other interests do you have? I love essential oils!!  I love making my own herbal infused massage oils as well as many other natural personal and household items. I LOVE music and enjoy playing the guitar, singing, and dancing.  I love being outdoors and spending time with my friends and family! I love to learn and share information about the body and holistic healing. I love cooking and preserving food, sewing clothes, quilts, and other handy things. I love stretching and laughing!!
