Katie was first won over by massage after finding immediate relief and eventual healing of a chronic injury. She was hooked! At the time she was living in Seattle where she graduated from the University of Washington and had been working in the gymnastics industry for over a decade. She has always been fascinated by the human body and worked to help her athletes balance their strength and flexibility to prevent injuries. Now, she began daydreaming about a new career in massage therapy where she could help people recover from injury.
In 2015 she moved to Bend OR with her husband and enrolled at Sage School of Massage. While in school she developed a passion for natural, holistic health and wellness. Since graduating she has worked in both clinical treatment and upscale spa settings. Her style merges her knowledge of anatomy and targeted force line deep tissue treatment with intuition and acceptance of where each client is on any given day. She believes deeply in the body’s ability to heal itself, and moves slowly to allow her clients to connect with their bodies and determine the ultimate depth of massage.
With over 17 years of experience working with kids, she is excited to bring the benefits of massage to your whole family! Just like adults, your budding athletes can also see quicker, and more complete healing from injuries when massage is incorporated into the treatment plan. Even infants can see an improvement in sleep patterns and digestion when massage is added to their schedule. Katie is a Certified Educator of Infant Massage through Infant Massage USA/International Association of Infant Massage. She teaches 5 week parent/infant classes where parents can learn to communicate with their new babies through the art of massage.
