I feel I have a rare perspective for a massage therapist.  After 13 years in special education, the physical demands as well as the stress of my career had my body suffering from chronic pain and tension.  Then I discovered massage therapy.  As I gradually began to heal through massage therapy, I realized that for my physical and mental health I could no longer continue in my chosen career.  Over time I realized I could continue to help people (my main attraction to teaching) in a different way- with massage.  As a result I understand how powerful massage can be from the perspective of the patient in need of healing as well as that of the therapist trying to heal.
