Welcome to Wells Wellness! My name is Brittany Wells-Vyskocil and here's a little blurb about me...

In May of 2004 I was involved in a car accident that left me with significant injuries. Shortly after being released from the hospital, I began a regimen of Physical Therapy at the recommendation of my physician. After only a few weeks, I began to get stress fractures as the therapy was too much for my body to process. I met with my doctor and pleaded with him to recommend something that would help alleviate my pain instead of causing more. Honestly he didn't have much to recommend for me and I felt incredibly defeated in that moment. A few days later I met with my Chiropractor to discuss possible treatment options through chiropractic care. He was more than willing to treat me, but also mentioned that I might get some good relief through therapeutic massage. Initially I was skeptical; I wondered how a massage was going to do anything considering the severity of the injuries I had sustained. I met with a Massage Therapist shortly after that and began my journey of healing. During the months of June, July and August of 2004 I received two massage sessions each week for 90 minutes per visit. Those sessions pushed the limits my soft tissue was capable of going, but I was amazed at what a difference massage was making with my body. I didn't feel excruciating pain for the first time in weeks. At the end of 12 weeks, I was astonished when I was able to get off the massage table and walk out of the office on my own two feet with no assistance. It had been months since I was able to do that. In that moment I decided that Massage Therapy was the career I wanted to pursue.

I attended the Minnesota School of Business campus in St. Cloud and graduated from school in December of 2005.

I have been practicing massage professionally since my graduation.

I am certified in Hot Stone Therapy currently. However, my one true passion is working with people who have experienced an Injury or Trauma, as I am really able to empathize and understand their situation. My specialty is Deep Tissue manipulation. I am able to perform other modalities such as Pre-Natal massage, Geriatric massage, Pediatric massage, and have had brief training in many other modalities. The thing I find important to note here is that despite having training in many other modalities, massage therapy is similar to medical doctors in that many of us who practice massage tend to specialize in one area and practice mostly inside that scope. Every therapist is different, and that's the amazing thing about this field. It has endless potential!
