My interest in health and healing began in my early 20's when I was recovering from substance abuse. During that time a combination of alternative therapies and psychotherapy worked best to address all aspects of my being from the physical to the spiritual. Through this work I cultivated a deep appreciation, love, and curiosity for the mind-body connection and the mysteries of healing.
In the summer of 1993 I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Austin Texas. In September of that year I took a Reiki class, and by November I was registered for the massage therapy program at The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School (TLC). I completed 725 hours of training at TLC. After graduating, I started my private practice and for 7 years worked part-time as a massage therapy instructor at TLC.
I've now been in private practice for more than 25 years. I've studied a wide variety of bodywork and massage modalities, craionsacral therapy and cupping massage being two that I specialise in. My approach to bodywork is integrative, holistic and intuitive, blending soft tissue work with energy based modalities to help the body re-align and find it's balance.
In 2001 I was certified in kundalini yoga and meditation and enjoy teaching my clients yoga exercises, breathing techniques and meditation skills as part of their wellness program.
