Education is half the battle in the fight against pain.

Alaskan born, I have lived here most of my life.

I absolutely love being here in Alaska, as it has always felt like home.
It was here that I went to Alaska Career College, going back into school in the pursuit of my dream job: Massage Therapy.

I graduated in 2008 and received my professional licensing.

This passion started with me, like many children, walking on my parents backs, rubbing shoulders, arms, and necks. It gave me a sense of accomplishment and I really liked the fact that, through touch, I could help people to actually feel better. How thrilled I was when I found out that I could make, not just a job, out of Massage, but an entire career based around it!

This has not been an easy road by any means, but the fact remains that every day that I do massage, is never a bad day. I have helped to bring those who thought that pain was just their life now into a state of actually beginning to heal and feel better in their day to day lives. It leaves me with a sense of warm achievement.

To this end, I focus my attentions on those in pain. Those who have chronic pain, either from an old injury or from chronic over-use, repetitive motions, surgery, headaches, migraines, back aches, and so much more. I want to help people figure out what their pain really stems from, get them on a plan, and help them get to a better place in their lives.

For the past three years, I have finally devoted myself full time to my profession, and I intend to go on until I no longer can! I have received additional training in Myofascial Release, Reiki Energy Work, Orthopedic Massage, Lymphatic Facilitation, Craniosacral Techniques, and many others, of which I use a combination to help combat pain where I find it.

I hope to see you on my table soon, let's take the journey together to end pain!

Mel knows exactly what and how to work on your body without the pain I’ve become accustom yo in previous massage therapy. She does it with such skill and grace, it seems she was born to do this work!

Mel's always amazing. She finds the tension spots where most massage therapists don't. I always feel I don't want my sessions to end.

For my birthday, I received a gift certificate for a massage from Mel’s Mobile Massage and went for my first massage with her on 6/7. TERRIFIC MASSAGE! And I absolutely love the fact that Mel offers her customers the option of her (conveniently located) office or she can provide mobile service (that’s right, she will bring her massage table to your house!) There’s nothing better than getting a massage in the comfort of your own home. About her massages: Her intake form asked a lot of questions about what your needs & concerns are, as well as what your comfort level is with touch on certain areas of your body. She offer several massage styles, and can mix them up to meet your needs. During the massage, she checked in with me frequently to to ask and remind me to let her know if I felt any pain or if I needed the massage to be softer or harder on certain areas. Her communication was excellent, it was very comfortable in her massage room, and she was very personable and friendly without overkill. The massage was phenomenal, and I’ve already scheduled my next appointment.

A different level of lighting could be provided for the client when dressing/undressing. I didn't really have an issue until I almost couldn't find my watch as it was darker than I had realized. ????

This was my first time visiting Melissa, and it was a very positive experience. I have some issues with my right side and she worked on them and it feels better today. I am going again next week to have her continue working on my muscles, stretching them and getting rid of the painful knots.
