What to expect
Our session begins by reviewing your health history, discussing how you live and move in your body, your goals, and preferences for the session, and assessment .Together we'll create a framework for your session. The treatment room is outfitted with an array of pillows, bolsters, and towels to ensure your comfort on the table. Because of the time this detailed attention requires, please allow an additional 15 mins at the back end of your appointment.
For clients seeking to address patterns of pain and tissue restriction, Shannon utilizes a variety of techniques to enhance quality of life and performance. As session may include moist heat, cupping, Myosketetal Alignment Techniques (MAT), Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), Myofascial Release (MFR), assisted stretching, and passive body techniques, among others.
For clients seeking to manage the day-to-day stress of living, Shannon takes a myofascial Swedish approach using slow, long, broad, connecting strokes while drawing on Trager Work, Craniosacral Therapy and passive body techniques.
For clients with C/PTSD, recovering from an acute injury, surgery or are otherwise fragile, Shannon will design a session primarily around passive body techniques such as gentle range of motion, ocillation, compressions, traction, and static holds all of which conspire to down regulating the nervous system inducing a deep state of relaxation. Reflexology is also effective discipline in down regulating the nervous system.
