A little bit about Sinthea ...

Sinthea grew up in a home environment that exposed her to massage nearly every day of her young life. From the age of three she either gave or received massage among immediate family members. It was only natural for her to pursue massage therapy as a profession later in life.

However, Sinthea's first career started in nursing in 1992, with a focus in pediatrics, oncology and hospice. She became a licensed massage therapist to promote an integrative approach toward good health and a sense of well being. Her experience as a nurse has allowed her to accept massage clients with complex underlying health issues.

Sinthea became interested in pediatric massage through her contact with licensed massage therapist, instructor and author, Marybetts Sinclair. Two of Sinthea's own daughters, one biological and one adopted, have spina bifida which further deepened her quest to learn pediatric massage for special needs children.

"I believe that massage can help provide for a person’s physical and emotional needs in the same aspect as well-intentioned touch does from birth to one's last days. As people, we need this to survive and thrive, but often do not seek opportunities to meet this need and find ourselves deprived and in a less-than healthy state. I enjoy giving massage as a way to help improve physical and emotional health."

Sinthea lives in Albany, Oregon, with her husband and children. Her general interests are her family, her Christian faith, humor, crafts, photography, travel, experiencing new culturals, and advocating for special needs and adoptive children.

Sinthea completed her massage training at Oregon School of Massage in Salem, Oregon. She is a member of the National Association for Nurse Massage Therapists and Associate Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
