I grew up an Air Force Brat. 24 years ago my father retired from the Air Force & I have lived in Lenawee County ever since. As a kid I had all kinds of ideas for what I wanted to be when I grew up. It ranged anywhere from cosmetology to an architect. My mother always said I should become a lawyer because I loved to argue. These days my favorite job is being a mom. I have amazing kids that have taught me more than I could ever teach them. I grew up camping in cool places like Alaska & the UP, and that love of camping found me again as an adult with my own children. My children seem to think that we never have enough animals. We have many pets including dogs, cats, a goldfish & a hamster. As a family we try to find humor in every situation, we love to laugh. I also enjoy making hand crafted jewelry when I can find some free time.

                My other favorite job is being a Licensed Massage Therapist and business owner at Dani’s Zen Den.  I have always had a knack for massaging stress out of feet & finding knots in someone’s shoulders & working them out. I was told many times growing up & since that I should go to school to become a massage therapist. For a long time I kicked around the idea, until someone told me that a new massage school was opening right in Adrian. The timing was perfect & in 2016 I enrolled in Adrian School of Massage. At Adrian School of Massage I was trained in modalities such as Swedish, Myofascial Release (often referred to as MYO), Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) & Prenatal Massage, all of which I specialize in. I graduated in August of 2017 & in November passed my Mblex & was licensed. In January 2018 I started Dani’s Zen Den, Massage Therapy. At Dani’s Zen Den it’s very important to me that my clients be comfortable and relaxed in my massage room & be comfortable communicating with me. I love being able to help facilitate a body to relax & hopefully heal itself. When a client leaves my massage room with a smile & tells me they feel better already, that makes me so happy! My massage room is where I’m happy. It’s my Zen place.

                Something very near & dear to my heart is children with Autism & various behavioral disorders. I have seen firsthand the benefits of massage & relaxation techniques on these amazing kids. Because of this I am working on a clinic so children diagnosed with these disorders can enjoy the benefits of massage without cost being a deterring factor for the parents or guardians. Details are still being ironed out, but I’m hoping to have this project up & running before the end of 2018.
