Velvære: the Norwegian word for the state of well-being. Used to describe the balance between mind, body and spirit. It encompasses emotional/physical/spiritual health, social relationships/community, and connection to nature.
Embodiment: being in a state of mind-body connection that allows a deepened awareness of our physical body and sensations.
When we embody velvære we are grounded, present, and intuitive. We are able to tap into the wisdom of our bodies and listen to what it needs. Massage therapy and reiki are therapies that reduce stress and pain, calm our nervous systems, and strengthen our mind body connection.
