Hey! Welcome to Renew Therapeutic Massage. I'm Summer, and helping people feel better is my passion.
I started Renew in 2023, but have been a practicing MT since 2020 when I graduated from Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage. As I have grown as a practitioner, I've developed a style of massage that is the best of both worlds - therapeutic deep tissue with a Swedish spin.
The biggest informant of my approach to bodywork is the brain/body connection. When we are chronically stressed or struggle with our mental health, our nervous system goes into overdrive and causes our physical body to remain in a state of tension. Incorporating slow, intentional massage strokes followed by specific therapeutic techniques helps to bring our body into recovery mode. I love to address issues of chronic pain, new and old injuries, and lifestyle management. Whether you're looking for a moment of relaxation, or rehabilitation, I consider it an honor and privilege to be part of your wellness journey.
In addition to this approach, I also love working with expecting moms! Pregnancy and post-partum are not easy seasons of life, and massage can help you feel more comfortable with all the changes that come with the journey of bearing new life.
Currently, I am working towards becoming a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. MLD is a bodywork modality similar to but completely different from massage, and may require the cooperation of a physician depending on your treatment goals.
