Myofascial release: is a very effective massage technique used to separate overlapping connective tissue (fascia), or “white matter,” from tangled/tight muscle tissue. Movements are slow and focused, allowing the body to release the tissue under the controlled pressure of finger, hand, or elbow. The result is muscle and fascia that can move more freely, return to their designated place of origin, and work more efficiently.
This medical based approach to massage often leads to:
- Pain relief
- Tension relief
- Improved flexibility
- Improved mobility
- Improved range of motion
Myofascial release can be used on almost every part of the body where we hold tension. Back, neck, legs, feet, ankles, forearms, shoulders, face, jaw, and cranium muscles all count. Yes! Even (+ especially) those cranky hip flexors.
More efficient muscles = more energy to live your life!
I also love to use: CUPPING, manual TRIGGER POINT THERAPY, DEEP TISSUE massage, and ACTIVE RELEASE techniques.
