Relief from chronic pain, restored movement, and lasting wellness.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), also known as Trigger Point Myotherapy, is a precision therapy designed to relieve pain from muscle strain, overuse, or trauma — regardless of when the injury occurred. It all starts with a proper assessment of posture, movement patterns, and range of motion to trace down the root cause. I believe in measure twice, cut once, ensuring each session targets exactly what your body needs.

This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief helps bring balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, enhancing the function of joints, muscles, and overall biomechanics. NMT also stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, supporting long-term comfort and wellness.

The therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on areas of muscle spasm, typically applied with fingers, knuckles, or elbows. Pressure is held on each spasm for 10–30 seconds.

Neuromuscular therapy may feel intense or slightly uncomfortable at first, but the sustained pressure helps alleviate the muscle spasm. It is extremely important to communicate with your therapist about the pressure — whether it feels too much, too little, or is changing during the session — so the treatment can be adjusted to your needs. This session can also incorporate techniques such as acupressure, cupping, and gua sha to release tension, restore range of motion, and retrain the body for lasting relief.

Unlike a typical massage, NMT addresses the root causes of pain rather than only providing relaxation. It can be part of a comprehensive program, complementing other healthcare modalities to support your overall well-being.

This is not a spa treatment. There are no long glides, aromatherapy oils, or dimmed lights. If you’ve tried physical therapy, chiropractic care, or traditional massage without lasting results, Neuromuscular Therapy may be the missing piece.
