Hi, my name's Bodie! I've been a massage therapist for 5 years now. As a massage therapist, I'm passionate about finding and treating the root of my client's tension with hands on bodywork so that you aren't coming in session after session with the same aches and pains. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space for my peers and allies of the community.
I offer therapeutic massage for recovery, prevention of injuries and treatment of injuries. I utilize deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, stretching and dynamic cupping for a custom experience tailored to your body's needs. Most of my sessions include a pre and post verbal and/or physical assessment to better understand your areas of concern and come up with a treatment plan. The main goals of massage therapy are to treat tension and dysfunction in the muscles before they lead to injury, treat any existing injuries to help facilitate healing, and to give you awareness of your own body and movement patterns.
Disclaimer: My room is in Queers and Allies Fitness, a local LGBTQ+ gym offering safe space to the community. Although I have my own private room with a door, this is not your typical "spa" setting for massage. There is music playing, lights on, and I am typically communicating with my clients throughout our sessions! It's good to bring or wear activewear clothes (shorts, sweatpants, leggings) Some of the stretching and mobility work is easier done with clothes on rather than undressed and draped with a sheet on the table. The more stretch, the better!
If you have any acute injures or medical conditions, I ask that you get doctors clearance to receive massage from me. Results from MRIs and X-rays can be helpful in our sessions. (if applicable)
