Artful Hands Massage Therapy

I specialize in therapeutic relaxation massage where areas of tension are addressed by gradually flowing deeper into the tissue, allowing pain and tension to melt away comfortably. Each massage therapy session will incorporate a variety of techniques tailored to your body's specific needs.

Ann's Story: 

Always passionate about health and wellness, I spent the first half of college as a pre-med major studying anatomy and physiology. Disillusioned with the western approach to human health I began to study herbs and plant-based medicine on my own, along with cultivating a large vegetable garden at home. My love for creating things with my hands guided me to complete a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, specializing in metalsmithing and jewelry-making. In my 20s I started my own business, Dream Spiral Art Jewelry, but it was a decade later that I came full-circle and discovered how to combine my passion for health and wellness with a love for working with my hands. That's when I went back to school and trained to become a licensed massage therapist. After graduating from the Institute of Massage Therapy (I.M.T.) in Richmond, VA I worked at a wellness clinic in the Fan. Then in 2012 I started my own practice Artful Hands Massage Therapy. While my profession was side-lined during the pandemic, I used the time to develop a line of medicinal salves called Roots of Zen Botanicals, which can be purchased at my massage therapy studio, along with my hand-made jewelry. 

Over the years, I’ve fine-tuned my artful hands with additional certifications in:

*Integrative Reflexology, *Perinatal massage (Nurturing the Mother), *Reiki (energy work), *Aromatherapy, *Lymphatic Detox Massage, *Thai-Yoga Massage, and *Gua Sha/Muscle Scraping. 

Rates:

60 Minute = $125 - 75 Minute = $150 - 90 Minute = $175

All first-time clients will be asked to pre-pay for their initial session online. After that, payment can be made at the time of service in the form of cash, check, Venmo, or credit/debit card. Gratuity is not included in the session price and is therefore always appreciated.

Please note: Gift Certificates expire 1 year from the date of purchase and discounted Package Sessions must be used within 4 months of the initial session.

Cancellation Policy: I kindly request that cancellations are made as far in advance as possible and only when necessary. If you must cancel your appointment, I require at least 24 hours' notice so that I can attempt to fill your spot; less time does not grant me this opportunity. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice and no-show situations are subject to the full cost of the session missed or forfeiture of a previously purchased gift certificate or package session. Late arrivals (more than 5 minutes) may have that time deducted from the appointment. Exclusions to my cancellation policy include emergencies, illness, car troubles and inclement weather.
