My name is AJ Heeren and I am a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT #18521), certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD-C) and as a Certified Plastic Surgery Therapist (CPST) through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS).
I specialize in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (also called Lymphatic Massage) for clients preparing for or recovering from surgery, including BBL, tummy tuck, and liposuction, as well as breast, reconstructive, and orthopedic procedures. Outside of surgical recovery, I also draw on deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and relaxation techniques to support your everyday well-being.
My life had been enriched by cross-cultural work experiences, meditation, and movement practices for well over a decade before I decided to explore bodywork as a profession. In 2018, I lived in Thailand to immerse myself in Traditional Thai Massage education. I returned to the US to study trauma-informed somatic bodywork at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork in Kaua'i, where I graduated in 2019.
I believe the combination of a continuing holistic education and a life nourished by living immersed in different people and cultures around the world has developed my style into one that is open-minded, grounded, effective, and adaptable. In my sessions, listening is a priority. I skillfully and intuitively tailor therapeutic massage for deep relaxation and restful recovery from physical and emotional distress or limitation. Presence and compassion are always essential elements of my approach.
