Hi there!
I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome to Massage Is Therapy.
My name is Jenny, registered nurse and licensed massage therapist. I am passionate about Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (MAT), and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)/Brazilian Lymphatic Massage for their amazing health benefits.
It’s common for people to view massage as a luxury to be enjoyed during a vacation or for a special occasion. Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays… most people think of massage as a treat. Personal experience has taught me that massage is not a luxury, Massage Is Therapy.
It is not a treat, but a treatment for many common issues.
Massage is also a powerful preventive and maintenance tool for people leading active lifestyles and those with chronic conditions.
Massage is a form of healthcare. In today’s society, many people are experiencing chronic stress, depression, or anxiety. Stress is known to wreak havoc on our overall health; it affects every area of our lives and bodies. From the inability to think clearly and make decisions, to gastrointestinal issues interfering with proper digestion of nutrients and elimination of waste, stress affects us in ways we may not even be aware of.
Massage, on the other hand, can be helpful in ways you may not have considered. For example, did you know that abdominal massage can be incorporated into any session as an effective treatment for constipation?
Stress and pain are two common reasons someone may seek a massage therapist. Massage can also help with anxiety, depression, headaches, limited mobility, exercise recovery, fluid retention, bloating, constipation, and much more.
Here is a helpful reminder from AMTA:
"Massage is good medicine."
