I scheduled a 60-minute massage for 6:00 PM. Around 3:00 PM, the shop called to ask if I could move my appointment up to 4:00 PM. I was happy to accommodate the change, despite the inconvenience.
However, my service lasted only 30 minutes. My appointment ended at 5:00 PM, yet I was still charged $140 for a full 60-minute massage. I believe I should be refunded for the difference in service time, as it is not reasonable to pay the full price for a partial session.
I understand that scheduling issues and overbooking can happen, but clients should not feel responsible for resolving an establishment’s booking challenges, nor should they have to absorb the cost of such mishaps.
This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it left a very negative impression, especially as someone who sought this service during a period of grief and healing after the loss of an infant. I truly needed the full session I booked. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return.
