New improvements to client intake forms, online booking prepayments, and website integration are live in MassageBook’s practice management software for massage and bodywork professionals

The perfect intake forms for all of your needs

Our brand-new intake forms are a trifecta of awesomeness: customization, automation, and organization. This newly reimagined feature expands far beyond the previous functionality, making these the most complete and useful massage and bodywork intake forms available anywhere.

Simply drag and drop custom content blocks to start creating virtually any form your practice needs, including SOAP notes or other unique forms for any of your services and staff. You can even add an anatomical image to help clients illustrate issues they’re experiencing and a waiver complete with a signature field.

Once you’ve built your perfect forms, sit back and relax while MassageBook sends your custom form request emails to the right clients at the right times based on the simple rules you’ve set.

Forms can be filled out at home or on the go to save time before sessions, and completed ones stay nice and tidy in the client’s record under the new Intake Forms tab.

Plus, you’ll continue to see alerts for medications and contraindications on your schedule. Simply open the client’s appointment to take a peek—and voilà!—you’ll be up to speed on all the critical details before they ever even arrive.

⚠️ Intake forms are a premium feature designed to streamline your day. More control over how you collect prepayments from clients booking online

This past July, we released the ability for you to collect partial prepayments from clients booking online. This functionality ensures you already have enough money in hand to enforce your cancelation policy without requiring clients to pay the total amount of the service upfront. So when partial prepayments are enabled, clients can choose to pay either a minimum deposit or in full to reserve their appointment.

However, we heard from many of you that you wanted the ability to remove the option to prepay in full, so we listened. As a result, you can now set a minimum amount due for new and existing clients without giving them the option to prepay in full during online booking.

To enable partial prepayments and remove the option to prepay in full, sign in to MassageBook and select Settings > Online Booking Rules > Prepayment Rules.

A website integration experience that works for all clients

If you already have your own external website, it’s easy to add an online booking page to it simply by copying and pasting a few lines of code provided for you. You can even select a custom theme color for the page that matches your site to create a visually seamless integration.

The problem? Updates to Chrome and Safari web browsers can prevent users from scheduling appointments through the booking page widget.

So to address the frustration, we’ve modified how the website integration experience works so that users of these browsers no longer have to change their settings or switch to a different browser. Your service menu will still display on your external website; however, the rest of the process, including time selection and payment, will take place in a new standalone tab once a client selects a service to book.

⚠️ If you’re using the booking page widget on your external website, we highly recommend replacing the existing code with the newly updated one to ensure a smooth experience for all your clients.

To find and copy the new code for the booking page widget, sign in to MassageBook and select Setup > Website Integration.
