Deep Tissue

I did continuing education credit in Deep Tissue Massage its designed to relieve pain and muscle tension throughout the body. This type of massage is extremely beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscles, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints) and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown adhesions (tense areas within the muscle). Adhesions in the muscle are very important to address because they cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints.

Pregnancy

I did Continuing Education Credit in Pregnancy Therapy specifically tailored for the expectant mother's needs.

Certified Infant Massage Instructor

As a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) I have the unique opportunity to help parents and caregivers to bond with their babies through the use of an age old tradition – infant massage. During this class, you will learn directly from me Chrystal McNary. Basic infant massage can soothe an anxious baby, and will provide all of the wonderful benefits that massage holds for adults. This course teaches simple routines for general massage, as well as exercises to stimulate muscle development and coordination. I also cover special situations such as colds, colic, hiccups, constipation, diarrhea, teething irritability and other conditions. The instruction focuses on teaching the parents to massage their baby, because most new parents cannot afford to pay you to massage their baby, and because they are the ones that need to have the bonding that massage can bring. Plus they need to have the tools to settle a fussy baby in the middle of the night. For this reason, the techniques are simple by design, meant to be used with confidence by non-massage therapists on their most precious asset - their new baby. This course does NOT go into advanced techniques such as cranial shaping, therapy for birth defects, etc. It is designed for parents to learn massage skills to help them with a healthy infant.

Chrystal has educated me to know a difference in a massage and a therapeutic massage. If you are one that your needs are for whatever reason requires your muscles to be addressed and renewed, this is the place. I have been in a number of accidents which has caused pain and over time a buildup of scar tissue. I always knew there are different massages, we have to take care of our bodies so that we will not have bigger issues when we age. I am addressing these with Chrystal and I truly believe and understand that this too is a therapeutic Journey. Thank you for your help and education. Get educated and reach out to her.
