Reiki uses a technique commonly called palm or hands on healing. Through the use of this technique, practitioners transfer universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of qi (Japanese: ki) through the palms, which they believe allows for self-healing and a state of equilibrium.

Ingrid Kania is a January 2017 graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) in Newington, CT. After earning a master’s degree in public health and beginning a research career, Ingrid realized she wanted to have a greater impact on individual lives. Around this time, she discovered reiki, a form of energy healing. This discovery naturally led her to pursue massage therapy. In addition to the sciences of anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology and massage techniques, Ingrid learned the importance of self-care and life balance as a student at CCMT. Ingrid’s pace is slow and steady to allow her clients to relax and restore balance in their bodies. She believes that everyone deserves to take care of themselves so that they can take care of the people they care about most. Ingrid welcomes you to reset and restore joy into your life through therapeutic massage. To maintain balance in her life, Ingrid practices yoga daily, receives massage weekly and hikes as often as possible. In addition to her general massage therapy training, Ingrid has completed extra oncology massage education. Ask her about her latest continuing ed class - she's always learning!
