After receiving my Bachelors of Fine Art from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2003, I quickly realized the starving artist lifestyle was not for me. Intent on going back for my masters to teach at a college level, it seemed massage therapy was the perfect line of work to fund my future plans. I enrolled at Blue Heron Academy of Troy in the medical massage program and immediately fell in love with the limitless health benefits and endless applications! From pain relief to athletic recovery, the soothing touch of massage is one of the few things in life that is truly healthy… yet effortless! I realized instantly that this was the career for me!
I began my massage career in April, 2007 by gaining experience in a chiropractic facility followed by a chain massage studio and private spa. In 2010, I was blessed with the opportunity to combine the best qualities of each to create a space for therapeutic massage with the feeling of luxury. As a long distance runner, I enjoy working with athletes of all kinds, knowing first hand the value of massage when it comes to athletic recovery. After a decade of massage experience I value the opportunity to get to know my clients and research specific techniques that will increase their success during sessions.

After many years in the automotive field and after taking time off to raise a family I decided to repackage myself in a different occupation. I enjoy people and wanted a career where I could be "a bright spot" in people's lives. I graduated from Healing Hands Holistic Health Center for Massage and am ever pursuing further education. I am licensed through the State of Michigan and Board Certified through NCBTMB. I am certified in warm bamboo-fusion, hot stone therapy and hospital/oncology massage. I am currently working with post-operative patients and those going through their cancer journey.
As of 2017 I bring 3 years of hospital experience with current training in hospital based lymphatic wellness, reiki and medical cupping modalities. I first became interested in learning massage therapy after I had gone on a trip to San Francisco in the late 90's. There I met a massage therapist who was also working in a retail clothing shop, and we began discussing the career. I have always been interested in health and wellness, and I found it amazing how much massage therapy can almost instantly relieve pain, and help the body heal.
I started to get passionate about learning more about massage, and graduated from the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage in December of 2002.
Since then I have worked in the field at spas, chiropractic offices, and independent massage practices. I have also had the opportunity to work backstage at venues such as the Palace, Ford Field, and Cobo Arena as the massage therapist for the artists and crews who were in town for the night. Those experiences are especially memorable for me since I had also been a musician myself in the past.
Currently I continue to enjoy my career as a massage therapist, where I get to meet and help a variety of people from all walks of life.

Tina was a lovely person and I'm sure her work on my low back was beneficial. However, I prefer a more fluid technique instead of short abrupt strokes. Plus the music situation with Alexa was problematic.

Massage therapy has been my dream job for as long as I can remember. I grew up being told that I had to get a bachelor’s degree to make a living. However, massage therapy was a trade school, not a college degree. So, in the summer of 2008, between my freshman and sophomore year of college, I enrolled at Blue Heron Academy and went to massage school. Throughout the rest of my college career, I practiced in chiropractors, salons, gyms and independently. I had a difficult time deciding what it was that I wanted to major in. This was because I was already pursuing my passion!
I started coaching CrossFit in 2013 after graduating from Oakland University. This had the biggest impact on my approach to massage. The mobility work we did in CrossFit with bands, foam rollers, lacrosse balls, etc. shaped how I began using my body to relieve tension in my patients. My favorite part of massage therapy is the “wow” factor; when patients come in expecting me to help them feel better and they leave not only feeling better, but moving better, breathing better, and less with less stress physically and emotionally.
I truly have a passion for massage therapy! After a decade of practicing, I can honestly say there is nothing else I would rather do. I love my job and I enjoy working on a variety of patients with a variety of conditions.
