My name is Michelle Grimes. I am so happy that you are here. I graduated from Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in 2004. During my 19 years of practicing Massage Therapy, I have had great opportunities to work in Medical, Chiropractic and Spa settings. My experience has led me to fulfilling my dream of opening my own business. I have worked with many conditions, such as auto-immune disorders, fibromyalgia, migraines, spinal issues, injuries, chronic pain, anxiety and many more. One thing I would like to talk about is stress and how it affects our bodies. I hear so many times that stress caused from work and life are major contributing factors of the muscle tension. When stress becomes long-term or chronic, it can have serious effects on our bodies. When the body is stressed, muscles tense up. Muscle tension is almost a reflex reaction to stress-the body's way of guarding against injury and pain. Getting consistent regular massage helps to retrain our muscle memory to relax and keep our pain at bay.
