Who is Toni Ridge, LMT?
Toni Ridge, LMT is a provider of professional Massage and Bodywork services and education. She is an independent contractor working with The Spa at Deer Run as a Massage Therapist, employed by Virginia College as a Therapeutic Massage Instructor, and a consultant to Woodling Chiropractic providing outcall massage services. She has worked in spa and clinic settings for 13 years and can use a combination of approaches to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
Toni originally studied Masasge Therapy in a 1 year diploma program at Hesser College in NH. When she decided that the cold weather didn't agree with her, she moved to the panhandle of Florida and completed the Florida requirements at Soothing Arts School of Massage. Once she became Nationally Certified and received her Florida Massage License in 2004, she began her own massage practice. In 2005, she moved to Orlando, FL where her clinical and spa skills were honed to accommodate a variety of clients in various settings (spas, a resort, a chiropractic office, a massage clinic, health fairs, sporting events, and client locations).
During her ascension up the massage career path, she attended Everglades University and graduated with a BS degree in Alternative Medicine. She readily incorporates the theories and practices she learned in that program to help her clients achieve relief from pain (back pain; sciatica; neck pain; shoulder pain; headaches; sports, work and auto accident injuries; muscle spasms or over use), increased flexibility, quicker recovery from athletics or injuries, reduced stress, increased immune efficiency, improved quality and quantity of sleep and better overall health in the greater Troy, AL area.
For the past 4+ years, Toni has dedicated herself to educating the newest members of the massage profession. She teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Kinesiology, Massage History, Massage Techniques, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Spa Services, Hydrotherapy, Aromatherapy, Energetic theories and practices or Reflexology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and Meditation. She plans to teach CEUs for currently licensed professionals in order to enhance the overall practice and general understanding of massage therapy.
She is currently Licensed by the AL Board of massage as a Massage Therapist and Instructor, Board Certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and is a Certified Member of Associate Bodywork and Massage Practitioners (ABMP).
Toni is passionate about Massage Therapy because it is one of the few medical fields where the effects begin after just the first treatment session. It is powerful enough to cater to the needs of the injured, delivering medical interventions that are less invasive than surgery and drugs; yet it is gentle enough to also be used to prevent illness and injury by the health conscious.
