Went for a massage with a few aches and pains but was just hoping for some stress relief from the Christmas rush. When Jerrel asked how I was feeling I did say I had some tension in my neck and a sore knee but no big deal. I felt less tension as I left but this morning ! I had no stiff neck and no pain in my knee plus I sleep like a baby. Great experience!

The biggest problems I had were with finding the location, and once my massage started, the construction outside that was extremely distracting. Obviously these things are largely out of JLA’s hands, and Chelsea said they are trying to move so that the noise won’t be a problem anymore. Overall, it was a great massage and if they change locations I would gladly go back.

I have no difficulties with the stairs to the office but suspect that some people may have a slight challenge navigating them. That is just a heads-up -- the massage is certainly worth it!

Jarrel is masterful at what he does and is a diamond in the rough in the Cville community. A self-proclaimed lifelong learner who continually studies anatomy and massage techniques, Jarrel uses his vast knowledge, as well as an attuned intuition, to get at the root of one's physical ailments. He possesses the strength to get into the deepest and most resistant areas, while also maintaining a continued sensitivity to feedback from the body so that the pressure is never injurious. Jarrel is experienced working with athletes of all sorts and in my opinion could easily be the choice personal masseur for a professional athlete. He maintains an even and commanding pressure as he glides over and into the body's pathways and pressure points. As a 6'5" male with significant tension due to scoliosis, dance, and "tall people problems", I knew I had found the right fit with Jarrel as he could handle what other therapists simply didn't have the strength or knowledge to support. Jarrel has resolved acute discomfort, such as a pinched nerve, or intractable tightness from anxiety/trauma, within a single 90 minute session.
