I have been practicing in Humboldt County since mid 2007 and specialize in therapeutic wellness massage. I do my best to formulate a session for each client based on their needs that day. I intuitively blend a variety of techniques, such as; Swedish, Deep Tissue, reflexology, Craniosacral, acupressure and meridian work, and Energy work. I also love to incorporate Young Living essential oils for many added benefits, including just smelling wonderful! I offer prenatal massage for those mother's to be out there. Hot stone massage, Raindrop Therapy Technique, and therapeutic spa treatments are also available. I am available in office at the Trinidad Massage Lighthouse Cottage at 529 Trinity St, and for outcall appointments in the surrounding areas. Ever since I was a child, I have been drawn to massage and caring for others. Along with my BA degree in psychology, I graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2010 and have practiced massage full time since. My specialty is Deep Tissue bodywork, using intuitive guidance to work WITH my client, as opposed to ON my client. Greetings! Aloha! I am so excited to be offering Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi Healing Massage Therapy! I have looked into many healing modalities because i have been driven from a young age to find a way to help people, and i am happy to say that i have found the Healing Art of Lomilomi. I have had the honor of apprenticing with an amazing Teacher, Kumu Haunani Hopkins, on the big island of Hawaii for the last two years. Then i passed my Hawaii State exam to become a certified Therapist of Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi, and came back to Northern California to share what i have learned and to be closer to Ohana(family). My Teacher honors her Kumu(Teacher) with this quote, "Remember Hawaiian Lomilomi is a praying work!" By Aunty Margaret Kalehuamakanoelulu'uonapali Machado. And i too honor my Teachers for the wisdom and love that is given through this healing work. Mahalo. My healing path has also led me to seek knowledge about medicinal aromatherapy which involves using healing plant essences directly on the muscles for release and vitality, as well as helping to clear the emotional realm of being able to let go. My studies have led me to take many workshops that show the mind/body connection through dreamwork, healing visualizations, and prayer. Some of the principles that i engage during a session are pule(prayer), ho'oponopono(resolving conflicts within the self as well as with family and other relationships), and the use of plant medicine in essence form which promote the body to let go physically and mentally. After a Lomilomi treatment, you will feel revitalized and nurtured! Aloha!
