Some brilliant proverbial folk once suggested to avoid speaking unless you plan to improve the silence...I am going to extrapolate the meaning of this phrase and avoid writing some stodgy bio unless I plan to prematurely sedate my audience...

Between me and the chalkboard...
I am a graduate of the 810-hour massage therapy program at Greenville Technical College, which included: Swedish, sport massage, reflexology, deep tissue/integrated Swedish, myofascial release, chair massage, folding fitted sheets, and muscle energy techniques. I also got a bit greedy and took an additional 90 hours of sports massage (working with Clemson University varsity athletes). I am CPR/AED and First Aid Certified, (heaven forbid an incident were to occur) and an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association. More certs to come (as I am, in fact, a nerd)...

Prior to becoming licensed, I received a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University (OH). As part of my undergraduate education, I studied running gait at Furman University (SC) under the supervision of the authors of Run Less, Run Faster (as I am a self-proclaimed, non-medicated running addict).

How I afford my peanut butter fix...
Professionally, I have an extensive experience in the health/fitness/performance industries serving/"finding myself" as a collegiate (D-I) athlete, retirement center wellness director, run group coordinator, collegiate (NAIA) cross-country assistant coach, and corporate health and fitness specialist. Fortunately, I have undoubtedly discovered my "hallelujah" in massage (yes, my parents are quite relieved as well) and aspire to seek something related to psychology in the near future.

My ingenious plan for world domination...
...Or rather, my bodywork philosophy...If you are looking for the healer of healers and divine miracle through therapeutic touch, allow me to assist in your quest by improving the way you move, think, and feel. Perhaps, you will then come to the realization that, while we (massage therapists) can certainly aid in the healing process, YOU are also vital to the success of the treatment. Think about it, if you get one massage per month, that's roughly 12 hours of bodywork competing against the remaining 8,748 hours per year of worldly exposure...what's likely to win out? Point being, we are a team.

Thus, [drum roll] my massage mission, if you will, is to improve and encourage movement. Period. I venture to say that if you can't move with abandon, then you can't fully live your life (go ahead, stop your heart and prove me wrong). Movement yields life. This idea can be applied to thought and emotions as well. If thoughts or emotions are being stifled and suppressed, your awareness can be compromised (i.e. speaking out of anger).

So, basically, I strive to help you extract every ounce of life potential you've got!

What I imagine for my epitaph...
Personally, I would describe myself as a Swiss army pocket knife. I am compact in stature (I prefer 'fun-sized') and seem to have acquired just a vast array of random, yet useful abilities. I find pleasure in preposterous running ventures of the endurance nature and deep conversation. My puns are incontestably terrible, but I ask as a favor that you offer me an ever-so-slight chortle so that I may ward off the development of a psychological complex. Should you happen upon my person in a public setting, I am likely toting an inhaler and 20 pairs of running shoes.
