When we begin our journey of self improvement, we need as many tools as possible to achieve our health goals. This can include restorative massage, a supportive lifestyle, nourishing foods, as well as herbal medicine. When we use all of these tools together, it creates a synergistic effect, to help us easily & successfully reach our health goals.

Nutrition Consultation (Initial Intake- 2 hours)

During our INITIAL INTAKE we discuss every body system in depth, including those not directly involved in your main complaints, so as to get a full view of what is happening in the body. We will both have the time to ask each other questions, and together we will figure out the best plan of action to help you achieve your personal health goals. At this time we discuss dietary and lifestyle changes that would be beneficial to your situation, and recommendations, including herbs & supplements.

Nutrition Consultation (Followup)

FOLLOWUPS are scheduled within the next two to three weeks, and typically lasts 30 minutes to an hour. Future follow up consultations are usually scheduled every one to two months, depending on the person's needs and goals. Follow ups are generally suggested to check in with the protocol previously given, and adjust as necessary. During these sessions, I strive to use this time for client education pertinent towards helping you reach your health goals.

Swedish Massage

Massage oil or cream is used with smooth, gliding strokes. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. It is a classic massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.

Trigger Point Therapy

For those who want to get rid of their pain, this clothed technique can result in incredible and long lasting relief. Trigger points are hyperirritable spots within muscle fibers that radiate and refer pain to other areas of the body. Trigger point therapy works through cycles of isolated pressure and release on these points to identify the exact location of the discomfort and release deep seated acute and chronic pain.

Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle light massage that helps to direct lymphatic fluid towards the lymph nodes. Emily has over 1200 hours of training in Clinical Nutrition and Herbalism from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, and over 800 hours of training in massage therapy from the Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute. She has been teaching holistic therapies since 2009 and is passionate about helping people through their own journey of health.
Emily is the founder of the Artemisia Academy of Herbal Arts & Healing, a new school for community & land based herbal education in Santa Barbara, CA. She has been teaching holistic health for over 10 years, including subjects such as Nutrition, Anatomy & Pathology at the Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute and Medicinal Plant Walks at the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens.
Emily prides herself on using all organic oils, and only organically grown or ethically wild crafted western herbs. Emily believes that the magic of the plants comes from the connections we have with them. As herbs are used to heal people, people in turn help heal the plants by growing gardens and protecting ecosystems.
