I don't fear death because I don't fear anything I don't understand. When I start to think about it, I order a massage and it goes away. - Hedy Lamarr

But a bit of my back story:

In 2004 I survived my first of three major injuries. I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury after being thrown into a windshield of a box truck (kind of like a midsize U-Haul). After this happened, I couldn't put weight on my legs without shaking, my legs would give out without notice, I couldn't rotate my head for about 6 months. I had a really hard time in reading, writing, speaking, my words would just not come out while speaking.
I had to learn how to walk, speak, write and read. This compounded with issues with frustration, emotional swings, and ungodly headaches and much more.

During my healing process, I discovered the benefits of energy work, self-improvement, and Medical Massage. I was able to gain benefits of massage through a friend of mine that would help when she was able to and when I was able to afford it.

I understood the effects of massage and decided that I wanted to do what I could to bring that to the world also.

After my third attempt at getting approval (school at that time had not been approved for Federal Financial Aid), I was able to be accepted into Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage.

This being after my second Traumatic Brain Injury (2009), school was a struggle. Though through my previous training and coaching I was able to find a way of not taking myself too seriously, being easy with myself and learning what my limitations were. Sometimes even learning of limitations while facing them. I had to learn when enough was enough. (Sometimes still learning this today).

I finally was able to get to the "hands-on" part of schooling and was all excited for the learning of Shiatsu. My goal and hopes was to bring the awareness and healing of Japanese Shiatsu, I found that I wasn't compatible with this modality!! I was surprised and a bit disappointed.

What I found excited for was Medical/Treatment Massage. Learning about Connective Tissue Disorders, Deep Tissue Massage and experiencing the benefits of this style of Massage. I was hooked and I decided that I was going to take this path in the journey of being a Licensed Massage Therapist.

A few years later, I was looking at needing to start on Continuing Education. I was searching around and realized that exactly what I wanted to pursue was available. I found the work of Erik Dalton and Freedom From Pain Institutes coursework. a full 90+ hour course that focused totally on Medical Massage and helping to focus intent on what issues are causing the pain instead of treating the symptoms of the pain.

This was all after my third Traumatic Brain Injury, and the learning limitations had shown their ugly head again. This course took me a while to understand and implement. I fortunately still had a supportive group in my corner. I have been able to become the first fully certified Myoskeletal Alignment Therapist in Northern NY.

Since this time, I have been able to help hundreds of people work to live a pain free life. Striving to ever better function and performance for runners, swimmers, bicyclists, manufacturing employees, office workers, gymnasts and Military Veterans.

Through specific massage work, stretches tailored to each patient and a retraining regimen, anyone is suitable for this style of massage.

This guy knows who he is, knows what he’s passionate about, and he knows his stuff. If you’re hurting and want to feel better, this is it. If you’re looking for a spa day, probably not. I’m very glad I found him.

I had a back issue and after I walked out no more issue.

Walked in with quite a bit of pain in lower back and virtually walked out pain free. Definitely going back and hope to attain periods of being pain-free

I started with Jim with spectacular results. I have a very damaged neck that has resulted in shoulder issues. Then covid shutdowns came. I no longer had him available. So when he returned, I was ecstatic. And now after 4 treatments, I am back to a more flexible and more pain free movement. I have been told surgery would be my only choice with no guaranteed results. Due to my profession, I have been to many many body workers. He ranks #1!!!! A true gifted healer. Lisa
