I sweetly embrace life and use my experiences to fuel my journey to self actualization. I was born in the island of Jamaica. However, I am no longer the little girl that left Jamaica; but has grown into a self assured woman who was blessed to return to my island home and in doing so realized that leaving Jamaica never meant that Jamaica left me.

Identifying strongly with my Jamaican culture has been the key to unlocking the layered complexities and dimensions of myself. This journey has lead to the revealing of my passion for massage and the healing arts. A woman fit with the endurance of being a community healer and boss lady.
A lover of the arts, wellness, women's and youth empowerment, I use my passion to mentor, coach, guide and teach those with whom I come in contact. My love of writing and and the benefits of sharing deeply with others has drawn me to the opportunity to support the production of Listen to Your Mother. Along this journey I have continued to creatively support members of our organizations, members of our families and members of our Rochester community.

We often wade through and sometimes have sat too long with who we are not before getting to who we are. There we find our purpose and our true work. There we find our connection to the whole. I continue to stride forward, filled with a healthy dose of fear and a perpetual feeling of courage. This was my first time doing a couples massage with Ania and Raquel. My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience at Raquels space. I have been to other places but nothing compares to the beautiful, clean, and intimate space that she created. The atmosphere and background music were soothing and the heated massage table helped me fully relax. Her communication skills were on point. She checked in at all the right moments to make sure the pressure was ok. I also appreciated the opportunity to learn. Raquel is very knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. It was an awesome experience for me! Space: I love the space that Raquel practices in. It’s set up beautifully and has a cozy and comfortable feeling to it. (A lot of times people say cozy as a cute way of saying small, but the room has so much space!) Professionalism: Raquel was so professional and cautious. I saw her amidst Covid precautions and she took all necessary measures to maintain safety between her and myself. I also felt safe, respected, and that she took care in the level of undressing that I chose. Skill: Most importantly, the massage was wonderful! I like deep pressure because I abuse my back like nobody’s business! She gave the right amount of pressure and also utilized a massage gun for my very deep muscle troubles. I’ve never had a MT use the gun before and I was so grateful for it. It can offer relief that might not be possible working only with the hands. I felt much more comfortable having a professional using this tool than I would if I were to try it myself because she understands the muscle groups much better than I do. Also, if I find a good therapist, I want their hands to last forever so if a tool can relieve some of the work those magic hands would be doing, pleas
