Reflexology

The practice of Reflexology includes the targeted application of pressure to specific points on the hands or the feet in a way that produces a therapeutic effect in another part of your body. The earliest known recording of this type of healing modality was in Emperor Huang Ti's book in Ancient China dating from 2704 BC. However, there have been findings that suggest some form of reflexology was also practiced in Ancient Egypt, Japan, South America, Ancient Babylon, India and even in Russia. Reflexology ultimately works as a stress reducer in the nervous system, promoting beneficial effects on the whole body, including your internal organs. By utilizing reflexology maps of the hands and feet, your therapist can affect a change in three ways: 1.) A general relaxation response 2.) A specific reflex effect 3.) A rejuvenation of the hands and feet. Conditions that would benefit from Reflexology: Stress, digestive issues, breathing disorders and respiratory problems, nasal congestion, high blood pressure, bereavement, trauma, improvement in circulation, children's health, back pain, migraine, menstrual pain People in particular who would be advised against Reflexology: Anyone with a foot fracture, Gout, unhealed wounds, extreme osteoarthritis of the foot, vascular disease of the leg or foot (permitted with doctor's authorization), current thrombosis or embolism in the foot or leg, women during early pregnancy (certain points are known to stimulate labor),

Reiki

Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that can help return us to balanced functioning on every level-physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, even social-regardless of our age or state of health. Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on healing technique which uses spiritual energy to treat ailments without using pressure, manipulation, or massage. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of a person-body, mind, emotions and spirit. Although balance can mean different things in different circumstances, Reiki treatment, which is usually facilitated by light touch, typically brings rapid stress reduction and relief from pain and anxiety. Reiki is generally associated with nonspecific benefits, such as deep relaxation, stress reduction, enhanced immune functioning, greater peace, and increased self awareness. ? ? Conditions in particular that benefit from Reiki: Stress, depression, anxiety, enables emotional clarity, insomnia, pain management, digestion issues, support for substance abuse recovery, surgical recovery, cancer treatment. ? Conditions that would be advised against Reiki: None known

REVIEWS for my Bodywork services

Stephanie is very good at what she does! She makes you feel at ease and shows genuine concern with whats going on with your body regarding your aches and pains. She offers good thoughts and suggestions and is always happy to answer questions. I come out of my appointment feeling refreshed, grounded, and in-touch with my body! The only reason for the slightly lower ambiance is not for Stephanie's working space, but for the location. I do miss the quiet, calm spa setting vs the clinical office setting, but I would go anywhere for her care!
