I became a Reiki Master in the year 2000. Also interested in Holistic Health, I earned degrees in Naturopathy (2006), Herbal treatments (2005)and nutritional counseling(2004) from Trinity Natural College. I provided these services mostly to friends and family while working full time. I had always thought about doing massage, but was comfortable in my 26 year career as a Speech Pathologist. In 2009, I had a major change in my life and went to Sedona, AZ on a soul searching retreat. It was there that I discovered (and affirmed) that I was to be working with my hands in a healing profession. I enrolled at American Spirit Institute in Williamsburg and became a Certified Massage Therapist in November 2010. Since then, I have attended courses in rotator cuff injuries, back and neck pain, myofascial release, kinesiotaping, and deep tissue techniques. I am certified as a Medical Massage Practitioner and am certified in CPR.
I am a firm believer that the body has the potential to heal itself and that it is imperative that we address mind, body and spirit. Stress is the most common cause for illness and injury and is one of the primary reasons people receive massage. Fibromyalgia, Plantar Fasciatis, Rotator cuff injuries, TMJ, back/neck pain, sports injuries, and arthritis are common conditions that are eased by massage.
I have provided healing in the Tri-cities, VA region for over 4 years now and have never been more fulfilled! hide
