Through touch, we heal, we transform lives!

I have chosen massage therapy as a career because I want to help people. Every time I give a massage, it never fails to amaze me how deep and immediate of a change one can have on someone's life and state of wellbeing.

My interest in massage  started more than 25 years ago. My cousin, a music major, used to practice her flute for countless hours. After each session of practice her muscles would be so unbalanced and tight that It would cause her incredible pain and discomfort. As I researched and studied some massage techniques I was able to soothe and alleviate her pain. Many years have gone by, but I have never forgotten how effective and life-changing massage can be.

Since my first experiences with massage, I have worked in various settings and performed various roles:  I worked in a manufacturing facility for 6 years; I worked as a middle school and elementary teacher for the last 15 years; I have attained multiple academic goals: Master of Arts in Teaching from American University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and an Associate of Arts from the University of Florida. Despite all my professional experience and multiple academic achievements, I have always wanted to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.

For me, Massage Therapy is a very personal way of changing someone's life, one massage at a time. It's a meaningful way to heal the body, while simultaneously paving the way to help the client find their true self.

There are many more reasons I could offer to explain why I chose to become a Massage Therapist, but I believe this phrase sums it all:

“Happiness is the willful choice of practicing that which fulfills your expectations of
what life should be.”
