A turning point in my thoughts of becoming a massage therapist happened after my grandmother passed away. She felt like such a kindred spirit with me that I knew she would want me to follow my heart and do something I had true passion for! She left me enough money to pay for school and the rest has been wonderful history.
After touring a couple schools in my area for massage therapy I found a home at Sterling Health Center School of Massage. I worked during the day and went to school in the evening. I was finally, truly at peace and happy with the way I was heading.
I graduated from Sterling Health Center in May 2001 and took (and passed) the Texas State Board exam for Massage Therapy that summer. It was very stressful for me due to the fact that not only was there a written test then there was also a practical. My strong suit isn’t standing in front of strangers ☺
Over the years of taking a TON of continuing education classes, I have found a wonderful passion I have for helping pregnant mommies though the process of their pregnancy, labor and delivery as well as post-partum care. I also LOVE showing the mommies how to, correctly, give an infant massage.
I am trained in Reflexology, myofascial release, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Prenatal, post natal, L&D massage, infant , child and adolescent massage, Geriatric massage, craniosacral massage, lymphatic drainage massage, and I was educated on care of cancer patients through the healing power of touch.
My ultimate goal and desire is to help others feel better physically with massage!
Most recently I have taken all necessary steps to become a Licensed Massage Therapy Instructor ( LMTI) and begin to teach in late January 2016. I am very excited to help others find thier passion and joy!!!! hide
