After surviving cancer, I found very few therapists willing to work on survivors. I felt this was a void that needed filling, and it became my passion. Even in school, I ran into problems because of the stigma that comes from cancer. This only strengthened my resolve to become a licensed massage therapist. And now I have enrolled in courses to further my education to benefit survivors with scar management, lymphatic drainage, and oncology massage. Although I'm an advocate for oncology massage, I'm also a staunch supporter of stress release, pain management, and all the healing benefits that come from this therapy.
